About Us
The Greater Cradle Nature Reserve (GCNR) is a large, contiguous conservation landscape located within the Cradle of Humankind UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most scientifically significant regions on Earth.
Comprising multiple protected properties managed under a single conservation framework, GCNR safeguards over 9,000 hectares of ecologically, culturally, and scientifically important land, with a long-term vision to expand conservation protection across a far larger area of the Cradle’s core zone.
